福报

我們的福报,是我们自己积累的,來自善心、善行和积极的努力,还有我们的言行举止!

福报是由自己的內心而來的,而不是随便做件善事表面应付一下就算是有福報了,是要真心诚意发自內心的!

Rule #46 The Joy of being Low Maintenance

Inspired by: http://thoughtcatalog.com/johanna-mort/2015/03/19-things-only-women-with-a-low-maintenance-fashion-sense-understand/

1. You have three hairstyles: down, ponytail, and bun.
True!

2. You have one pair of shoes that you wear with 95% of your wardrobe.
True!

3. Most of your outfits are just some combination of t-shirts and jeans.
T-shirts and shorts. Hehehe!

4. This makes getting ready massively easy. What are you going to wear? Throw on the first pair of jeans and t-shirt you can find. Put on aforementioned shoes. Boom. Done.
Yes, super fast and easy!

5. Sundresses are also great because they look like you put more effort into getting ready, but you definitely didn’t.

6. You have to be very clear with your hairstylist that you need a cut that’s easy to maintain, because you’re not about that life. Your idea of styling your hair is making sure the part is nice, and if you’re feeling fancy, throwing a clip or headband up there.
True!

7. You find make up a little terrifying. You understand the basics, and might even throw some on before leaving the apartment, but you once watched a YouTube clip about contouring and contemplated the existence of witchcraft.
No interest in make up.

8. Whenever you hear that you have to wear heels to an event, you get considerably less excited.

9. Then you get all dressed up, and get kind of excited! Heels aren’t so bad! Your legs look so much longer! You should wear them more often!

10. And then about half way through the event, you remember why you hate heels, and wish you could just 127 Hours your feet, and hack them off with a dull pocketknife. It would probably hurt less than wearing these shoes for another three hours.

11. You envy that somehow men can get away with wearing Converse with a suit for certain occasions, because that’s the dream, honestly.
Yes, man fashion are more easy and simple.

12. When your friends want to go out, your favorite thing to wear is a cool jacket over a t-shirt and your nicest-looking jeans.

13. Your friends relish the days when you let them dress you up. It’s like Christmas, but with dresses! And heels! And eyeliner!

14. Every time you dress up, you get a semi-Cinderella moment from your friends. Wow! You look so different! Who knew you had such a defined waist under all those sweatshirts! You should wear that more often!

15. The back of your closet is where all of your “nice clothes” reside. You pull them out for weddings and funerals, and that’s about it.

16. When you first got a job/internship that required you to dress “business professional” you cried a little bit because honestly what could you wear.

17. Then you figured out that you could rock “business professional” by mixing and matching a handful of items, and you’ve already mastered that technique.

18. You own contacts, but will often just wear your glasses, because you don’t feel like exerting the effort.

19. Going to the gym at the end of the day is really just an excuse to wear your comfy gym clothes for hours leading up to it.

Note to self - Thrifty

https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/singaporeans-stop-wasting-money-doing-160000793.html

Singaporeans Need to Stop Wasting Money by Doing These 3 Mindless Things

1. Buying things from 7-11 when there’s a supermarket nearby
Oops, I did it once in a while out of convenience.
Luckily not so often I did it.

2. Not selecting the right mobile phone plan
So far 2GB seems to be just nice for me.
Even though sometimes I had to struggle to refrain myself from surfing fb and instagram.
Will try control myself to prevent myself from being a money slave.

3. Using the same credit card for everything
So far I only had one and will keep it to one as long as I can.
Anyway I don't spend much so I don't think it matters.

Rule #45 The Art of Listening

Inspired by: http://www.joyfuldays.com/art-of-listening/#more-4336

3 nice points:

1. Stop doing everything else
This action shows how much we care.
Everyone can't multi-task.
No phone, no distraction, just focus.

2. Let the other person do the talking
Give all the spotlight to the person talking.
Tame my mouth, open my ear.

3. Take the person's side
Most of us need a friend, not a judge. When we need to talk, it’s usually because something has happened in our life that makes us feel vulnerable or unsure of ourselves. Confiding in someone is our way of saying “I need your support right now.”
Taking someone’s side doesn’t mean condoning everything they do or feeling exactly the way they do. It means deciding whether to stand next to the person and face the world together, or backing out and telling them they’re alone in this.

Most of my friends will take my side but there is still that small handful who don't care about people feeling at the moment and say thing that they think is right and make sense to them. OH COME ON, do that later.

Well said by the author. It is really so true and I did experience it before having no Monday blues at all. However I left

7. Dependent
Greater security in lasting, trusting relationships.

8. Compassionate
Put ourselves in the shoe of others.

Rule #43 Overcoming envy

Inspired by: http://www.becomingminimalist.com/ungreen-with-envy/

I think my life is cluttered with lot of thoughts.
I feel so suffocated, grumpy and unhappiness.
I want to feel light and free again. I need to do something about it.
It is time for me to go back to my strict minimalist therapy.

1. Shift your focus to the goodness in your life.
- I did take my blessings for granted.
- My life is indeed too valuable to be lived like everyone else.
- I had many reasons to be grateful for in life.

2. Remind yourself that nobody has it all.
- Comparing is bad. I always lose.
- Nobody has it all.

3. Avoid people who habitually value the wrong things.
If you spend all your time with people who compare the latest fashions, you are going to start desiring the latest fashions. If you spend all your time with people who talk about their salaries, their new cars, or their extravagant vacations, you are going to naturally fall into the inevitable trap of comparing your possessions to theirs. But there are far more important things to pursue. Remove yourself from the conversation (and the relationship if necessary).

4. Spend time with grateful people.
Find grateful people who experience contentment in their lives and spend quality time with them.
- Such people are rare.

5. Understand that marketers routinely fan the flame.
One of the most effective tools for advertisers in our culture is to foster jealousy and envy among us. After all, if they can cause us to recklessly desire the possessions of another, they can drive us to great lengths to acquire it for ourselves. Be on guard against their tactics. Recognize them. Avoid them. And refuse to succumb to their deception.

6. Celebrate the success of others.
Genuinely and practically, rejoice in the fortune of others. When somebody receives something that you desire, be happy for them. If you wanted it, they probably did too. Stop viewing life as a competition. Joy is not a finite resource. And the moment you learn to experience happiness in others’ joy is the day you take a huge step to overcoming envy once and for all.

7. Be generous. Even if you have to force yourself into it at first, make generosity an essential habit in your life. Give your time. Give your finances. Give your abilities, talents, and skills. Volunteer in your community. Support a cause that promotes social justice. And get your hands dirty. As you begin to spend more time and more energy with those who have less than you, the more you will find fulfilment and meaning. And when you do, the allure of another’s person life will quickly fade away.

Inspired by: http://www.becomingminimalist.com/ungreen-with-envy/

Choosing to live with less, we have experienced numerous unexpected benefits. We have more time, more energy, more freedom, and more money to pursue what is most important to us. Owning less means less cleaning, less burden, less anxiety, and less stress each and every day. In short, we are freed to pursue our passions.

I had discovered that my passion is travelling and personal business.
For travelling, I love planning itinerary, packing and getting lost.
For personal business, I love planning and deciding with full control.

习惯

已经是习惯的,很难改变。
我是这样,他也是这样, 她也是这样,大家都是这样。
我要把我的好习惯都改回来。

I am inspired by these.

Rule #42 Be a conscious spender

Exacted this from 'Money not so important' blog.
Inspired by the blog.

Sometimes I truly think the stuffs I buy are really a waste of money and space.
At the end of the day, 1 cent are really considered expensive.
I am learning to be a conscious spender.

The beautiful ones.

I wish I can have my very own awesome beautiful and efficient kitchen.
Minimalist and colourful.

Bit by Bit.

So many things to throw.
Shouldn't had buy and take those unwanted stuff.
Creating more waste make me feel so bad.
Another alternative is donating to needy countries.
Just nice, I had a friend who can help me donate to those needy people.

Progression when I reached home today.
Behind those doors are still super messy.

Now completed externally and internally.
All I have to do is to sell off the fan and wipe down the dust.
Impulse buying really getting on my nerve.

Computer table is more or less done.
Next to tackle is the clothes drawers and cupboard.

Monday, May 20, 2013

Ended.

Exam finally ended.
How I wish I graduated.
1 more year to go with 3 more modules.

After exam, I did a lot of stuffs.
- clear up study materials
- clear up surface of study table
- clear up computer table
- filling of bills and paperworks
- clear hp photos

In the mid of exam, my study table is super messy.
I normally don't study on this table due to poor lighting.
I study in front of my computer.

Now progress - 10%
Much more to tackle.

Rule #41 25 Mistakes that Prevent Better Relationships

http://thinksimplenow.com/relationships/better-relationships/

1. Talk too much about yourself (I should stop.)
2. Show no interest in other people’s lives
3. Complain (Sometimes, I feel helpless when they do. End up I will start to go No. 19.)
4. Don’t let people finish their sentences
5. One-up other people’s stories (They make me embarrassed. Haizx, I am unable to protect myself well.)
6. Don’t ask people to continue when they get interrupted
7. Don’t keep track of other people’s lives
8. Ignore someone’s emails and text messages (They always did this to me. What can I do?)
9. Respond instantly after someone talks (Oops, I should stop!)
10. Be vague in your thanks and praise. (I should work on this. I should be more expressive in showing grateful and appreciative to others.)
11. Assume that it’s a good time interrupt others
12. Be late (No matter what, I always ensure to be punctual. If late, I will inform promptly.)
13. Remind people of their imperfections (I did sometimes, I tried to control until they start to boost. They kind of trigger me to do so. )
14. Tell people that they “shouldn’t feel that way.”
15. Give unsolicited advice
16. Criticize other people’s ideas
17. Talk as if you know it all (To self and they: STOP IT YA!)
18. Brag (I did sometimes. They did too.)
19. Put down the achievements of others
20. Talk bad about someone (Sometimes. Slap self.)
21. Be distracted while talking to someone
22. Don’t make eye contact
23. Relate every conversation back to your own life
24. Assume that you know how others feels
25. Don’t smile when you meet people

After all, I don't fare that badly.
However, I do wish that since I can't change others, I should change myself to be a better person.
I wish to have a better enriching life.
Jia you to achieve complete happiness.

Prisoners to desires

Sadly, a lot of people are prisoners to their desires. They can’t get past social pressures and consumer greed and over the years and they become increasingly obsessed with collecting more and more debt.

Pleasure #13 Do new stuff

One of my favourite hobby is doing new stuff. I have so many new stuff on my hand which I didn't have the chance to finish them completely. Take for instant I first start with learning hangul, then horoscope, tarot cards, fengshui, baking, cooking, travelling, self development, management skills and many many more. Learning new things can widen your knowledge and mind. No wonder Sagittarius have lot of knowledge, cause they love to discover new things.

Pleasure #12 Forget the past

Forget the unhappy and carry on with life is a great feeling. Start the good life afresh will make your life happier.

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

Rule #39 Do what you love and then get paid for it. If you had the choice, wouldn’t you. You do, now go.

If you had a choice, grab it before it flew off. No one love to do things they don't like. I strongly hate it. If I hate what I am doing, there will be no passion, no focus and more hatred, frustration and annoyed. Negative feelings are produced and healthy started to deteriorate. Not worth it. Seriously.

Be strong, be fearless, be courageous. Only you can help yourself.

My dream and passion to have my personal business. A small, relaxing and happy business will do. I am aiming for international or competitive business. I just want a simple business that brings joy to myself and my customers. :D

Rule #38 Find a job you love. Time is a precious resource but your boss might not think so. Find a job you won’t dread on Monday mornings, or else, make one.

I am kind of appreciative that my in-charge understand this. I am very weak, I admit. I know good jobs are hard to find. Terribly hard in SG especially. If this is the case, try to find small little joy in the work you does. My job is not easy but I find fun and passion in it. I still find sadness and happiness in my job but a least there are some happiness in it which is no much better than zero happiness. Always focus on the happy past and ignore the unhappy part so that life won't be so miserable.
