On a dumpling festival during the era of later Tang Zhuang Zong, a Fuzhou lady Leng Shuangchan, met and fell in love with a young painter, Ai Jinglang.

It happned that both of them were neighbours, living across each other and were under the tutelage of Gui Daya. They began to express their feelings for each other through written poems which they threw across from their abode. Later, they seek Gui Daye's help to be their matchmaker. Shuangchan's mother agreed to the marriage as she was afraid that her daughter may be selected to be a Palace lady.

On the wedding day, Shuangchan was intercepted and forcefully taken away to the palace. Hopeless for a reunion with Jinglang, she beseeched the king to allow her to meet Jinglang for the last time. The king acceded as he thought that Shuangchan would submit to him after the meeting. However, the two lovers disregarding vanity and coercion, jumped into the furnace together. They turned into fiery birds and soared into the sky. However they were separated by strong winds and lost each other. Later, Shuangchan became the Lady in the Ninth Heaven. With the help of an immortal, Jinglang managed to locate Shuangchan. The Fire Emperor, touched by their steadfast love for each other, ordered them to be married in the immortal world.

Ok, BLUR BLUR BLURRY...

My Mum say I kind of inherited my father side genes of addiction to cantonese style opera. This opera show lasts for 4 exciting hours but my mum found it extremely super boring that she fall alseep, I find it super interesting and nice and totally addicted to it.

I didn't get to watch the last part because it was already 11 plus pm and Mum was worried that there was no more bus to go home. How I wish I am rich so I can take taxi home or have someone to fetch us home. It was such a pity to not watch the most interesting part whereby the lovers get married in heaven. I want to see how their heaven is like.

This opera show was not free, $25 per admission and fortunately Mum friend friends' couldn't make it and hence they gave us the tickets free. WOZH! Mum and me total $50, we didn't need to pay. I heard there were many such shows and no one get me notice and I missed so many good shows, and past by some of my favourite ones. But this time round, my Mum friend knew that I am so interested, she will notice me if there are such shows provided that it is foc. If you whoever is reading this, know of any cantonese style or chinese style opera only, do inform me. Thanks.

And also, I don't want to sit near gays anymore because I kind of dislike seeing guys hugging and sitting so near during the show. Somemore they are muscular and good looking guys. That is so unglam of them. :S
