Nine Emperor Gods 九皇大帝 Festival

Yesterday I went to witness the festival. There were many places and temples in the east area celebrating this festival. Of course me, Mum and her friends went to the most grand and most convenient ones. This was my first time taking photos of gods. Videos were taken using my camera but I am not the videographer. Photos and videos were taken with respect of the god. :)

When the gods were been escorted after the ceremony, this two vehicles must be at the front before followed by the nine gods. I think because they hold the tablets of the gods.



The gods were believed to be in the sedan chairs and they were all placed on the stage for mortals to pray. All the sedan chairs were nicely decorated with blinky LED lights and with music some more. Coolness. HHAHAHAH!



One by one, the lights were off and ready to be carried down for the ceremony.



One by one were carried down. When the lights were off, I realised that all the sedans were gold in color. WOW, mine GOLD color!


All gone and the stage was emptied.


A 4-stories tall spiritual bamboo tree for hanging nine lamps, representing the presence of the nine gods during the festival.





This was the elder emperor god, the sedan was super nice. This was the only one that was the most well-decorated as well as most heavily-decorated.


Lots of traffic polices controlling the traffic and escorting the gods on the road. It was like as if escorting the ministers.

After that each god were seated on a lorry with lots of its god followers and all the way to East Coast beach to send it back home by sea. We couldn't sent the gods off to the sea because we need to have I think more than nine days of vegetarian food. I can't live without meat. But Mum said that we can witness it by either happened that you are strolling on the beach or you take a bus yourself to the beach to see it. HAHHAHAH!
